George Riley Rowe was born 6 July 1857 in Jefferson County. He was Married
to Dolly Ann Rookard, b.21 January 1860, Phelps County, Missouri, the
daughter of George Washington Rookard and Elizabeth Mizel. George and Dolly
were married 15 June 1876 in Wright County, Missouri, with I.D. Moseley,
Bell Hardin, and John Bezania as witnesses. George and Dolly's children
were: William Edward Rowe; James M. Rowe; Ira Washington Rowe; John S. Rowe;
Daniel Wesley Rowe; Sina E. Rowe; and Jones Evans Rowe. George Riley Rowe
died 3 March 1940; Dolly Ann Rowe died 31 January 1941. They are buried
along with Dolly's parents in the Manes Cemetery, Manes, Wright County, Missouri.
   William Edward Rowe was born 4 May 1877 in Wright County. He was married
twice: first to Mary Elizabeth Hampton, b.17 August 1879, d.14 August 1904.
To this marriage two children were born: Erastus Cleveland Rowe and Sylvia Rowe.
Erastus Cleveland Rowe was b.20 July 1897 in Wright County, d.26 May 1976 in
Elk City, Kansas. He was married to Lola Clingan, b.4 April 1907 in
Oklahoma. They had no children.
   Sylvia Rowe was born 28 September 1899. She married Charles Edward Piehler
on 5 June 1921 in Kansas City, Missouri, and had three children: Charlotte
S. Piehler; Charles A. Piehler; and Loretta Naomi Piehler.

   William E. Rowe's second marriage was to Amanda Emiline Crisp, b.6 October

Bryant Rowe; Lela Ruby Rowe; Vilas Cleo Rowe; and William Willis Rowe.
Ernest Lee Rowe (b.26 June 1906, d. 11 November 1967) married Alta
Schoonover and had one daughter, Kay Rowe (Hoffman).
Amy Rowe (b.2 April 1908) was married to a Fry. They had two children:
Brenda Fry (Quigley) and Betty Fry (Haberly).

An infant son, born and died 23 February 1918. He is buried in the Coldwater

Wright County, Missouri, until 1901 and are found in the 1900 Wright County

 When the 1900 census was taken, John Lewis Rowe and his family lived near
Mountain Grove, Missouri. In 1896, some of the children of John and Addeline

During the year of 1900-1901, John Lewis and his family moved from
Missouri to Kansas where his son, Jesse, was born. By 1905 they had left
Kansas and were residing in Arkansas. The 1910 Randolph County, Arkansas,

   Addeline Weaver Rowe died during the measles epidemic of 1911 at Corning,
Clay County, Arkansas. She is buried an unmarked grave in the Corning Cemetery.
Effie V. Rowe (b. April 1894) was married to Andy F. Woods 8 November 1903.
She is buried at Flat Rock Cemetery.
Clidus M. Rowe (b.23 May 1886, d.21 April 1911) was born in Wright County,
Missouri. He was married to Martha Segraves4 (b.12 September 1889, d.8 April
1955) the daughter of Martin Van Buren Segraves and Margaret Alice Coleman
on 7 January 1906 in the Richwoods Community, barely inside Lawrence County
at the Lawrence-Randolph County line. He died during the same epidemic that
claimed his mother and is also buried in an unmarked grave in the Corning
Cemetery, beside his mother. Martha is buried in the Masonic Cemetery at
Pocahontas, Randolph County, Arkansas. Clide and Martha had three children:
Charly Edward Rowe, Lewis William Rowe, and Alice Adaline Rowe.
Charly Edward Rowe (b.7 November 1906, d.28 January 1988) was born in a
smokehouse not far from the Sanders Cemetery in the Randolph County side of
the Richwoods Community. He was still a young boy when his father died.
Charly and his brother, Lewis William Rowe, were raised by his grandmother,
Alice Coleman Segraves, when Martha, their mother, remarried. Martha's new
husband, Robert Smith was unwilling to assume the responsibilities of a
ready-made family. Smith issued an ultimatum to his wife: get rid of the
children or he leaves. Martha left her sons with her father, `Uncle' Mart
Segraves, who then took the boys to his estranged wife, Alice, who was
living with her parents, Joe and Jenny Coleman. The Coleman's were a
rough-and-ready hill-dwelling folk who lived in the less densely settled
area of Randolph County, Arkansas, in a community known as Bakerden, near
Dalton on the Eleven Point River. Charley was married on 17 September 1927
to Velma Billips (b.20 July 1910) the daughter of Lee Billips and Mary Hand
of the Blackwellden Community near Warm Springs. They had six children:
Charles Venson Rowe; Carl Wilbur Rowe; Margie Elizabeth Rowe; Osler Galen
Rowe; Jeffery Douglas Rowe; and Lanny LaRae Rowe.
Charles Venson Rowe (20 June 1928-15 Aug 1995) was born in Warm Springs . He
was married to Phyllis Jean Lamb5 (b.11 July 1932), daughter of Lewis Lamb
and Gertrude M. Willemborg, on 3 December 1949 at the home of Phyllis'
mother in Lansing, Michigan. They had two children: Charles Venson Rowe, Jr.
and Hellen Kay Rowe. Charles Venson Rowe, Jr. (b.6 October 1951) was born in
Lansing, Michigan. In 1966 he and his family moved back to the childhood
home of his father, Arkansas, where in 1971 he was married to Alma Rae
Marler Allen. This marriage was terminated in divorce in 1978. On 6 May 1978
he was married to Linda Marie Hilgendorf of Brown City, Lapeer County,
Michigan. They had a one child, a son:
Charles Venson Rowe III (b.16 December 1978) born in Lake County, Illinois.
This marriage also ended in divorce. He was married again to Susan Kay
Drolshagen (b.2 March 1947), daughter of John and Bernice Drolshagen of
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on 16 September 1980. They married in Monck's Corner,

Carl Wilbur Rowe (b.8 December 1930) in the rural around Warm Spring,
Randolph County, Arkansas. He was married to Winnifred Allen in Walla Walla,
Washington, on 23 December 1950. They had a son before the marriage ended in
divorce.
Ricky Ray Rowe (b.8 August 1951, d. November 1974) was born in Idaho. He
married, had a daughter, served with the Army in Vietnam. He died of a
self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Lewis William Rowe was born 20 January 1909 in the county courthouse in
Corning, Clay County, Arkansas. He was married on 30 June 1929 to Zelma Mae
King (b.28 February 1912 in Myrtle, Missouri, d.27 February 1940) the
daughter of Grealy and Becky King. Lewis and Zelma had one daughter:
Nola Bernice Rowe b.12 April 1930 in Dalton, Arkansas. She married Dintus R.
Vandergriff on 22 June 1946.
  Zelma Rowe was buried in the Masonic Cemetery in Pocahontas, Arkansas.
Lewis remarried on 10 July 1946 to Wilma Griffin, but this marriage was
short-lived and resulted in a separation within a few months and a divorce
shortly after. However, Lewis and Wilma remarried each other again on 3 July
1948 and, again, divorced shortly after. Lewis was married for the last time
on 27 July 1956 to Ethel Rathburn. Lewis and Ethel moved to Lansing,
Michigan, where he worked for the electric utilities until his retirement to
the Hamil community in Arkansas.
Alice Adaline Rowe was born 1 March 1911 in Corning, Arkansas. Unlike her
brothers, she remained with her mother after her mother remarried. Alice was
married on 21 November 1927 in Pocahontas, Arkansas, to Carl Aden (b.14 July
1906) the son of John Aden and Anna Cook. This marriage produce three
children before it ended in divorce.

Clemma Kirkman (b. December 1887, d. 1917) was married to Tom Creek. They
are buried in Prairie Cemetery in Texas County, Missouri. They had two
children: Claris Creek who was married to Sophia DeWoody; and Eunice Creek
(McClellan).
Luther Kirkman (b.23 November, d.9 February 1970) was married to Mary Jones.
He is buried in Boone Creek Cemetery near Licking, Missouri. They had two
children: Thomas Kirkman and Vera Kirkman.
Grover Kirkman (b.27 May 1892) was married to Polly Jones (b.5 October
1894). He is buried in the Boone Creek Cemetery near Licking. Grover and
Polly had the following children: Mabel Kirkman; Bernice Kirkman; Juanita
Kirkman; Faye Kirkman; and Delmer Kirkman.
Arch L. Kirkman (b.23 September 1900) was married to Myrtle Davis (b.23
September 1900). He is buried in the Boone Creek Cemetery. They had five
children: Clark Kirkman; Donald Kirkman; Marie Kirkman; Jerald Kirkman; and
Ray Kirkman who was killed in World War II.
Roy S. Kirkman (b. 1897) was married to Callie Derryberry (b.18 July 1899,
d.7 June 1982). They are buried in the Boone Creek Cemetery. They had two
sons: Lloyd C. Kirkman of St. Louis and Lou Doris Kirkman of St. Louis.
Nanie Minerva Kirkman (b. 1899, d. 1978) was married to Thurman Craig who
did not like her name and had it changed to Melba. They had two sons:
Eugene Craig who was married to Mary Kaigan and had three children: Marlyn
Craig who was married to Roland Love; Kent Craig who was married to Carol
Smith; and Diane Craig who was married to Billie Dixon.
Duane Craig who was married to Cathleen Barton and had two daughters: Kay
Craig and Judy Craig.
Vernon Kirkman (b. 1902, d. 1978) was married to Madge Scott. They had a
son, Vernon Kirkman, Jr. who was the father of Randy and Carol Kirkman.
Ethel Kirkman (b.8 February 1905) was married to Joseph Franklin Reed. They
had three children:
Joseph Doyle (b.4 November 1925 in Davenport, Oklahoma) was married on 16
August 1950 to Marilyn Williams. They had two sons: Rock D. Reed and Russ D.
Reed.
Robert Donald Reed (b.23 October 1934 in Licking, Missouri) was married on
25 June 1955 to Linda Hannon. They lived in Taft, California had three
children: Duff D. Reed; Jode A. Reed; and Susan L. Reed.

Edward L. Rowe (b. March 1869) was married to Oma Upton. Edward died
following a shooting incident during the Fourth of July celebration in 1898
in Houston, Texas County, Missouri. According to a newspaper account,
"Edward L. Rowe was shot and killed by Jack Smith at a Fourth of July
celebration in Houston, Missouri. The shot was said to have been intended
for William Flinchum or Walter Upton." He died 5 July 1898. He and his wife
are buried in the Houston Cemetery. They had two sons:
Elbert R. Rowe (b. August 1894)
John E. Rowe (b. May 1897)
